I just grabbed lunch here a few days ago.
It's tucked away a few blocks away from the hustle of downtown La Jolla, which is nice if you're seeking a quiet meal.
Okay, so this place is pretty much adorable. Huge windows bring in a flood of natural light and the smallness of the place gives it a light, cozy atmosphere.
Decorations are simple, sunny, and cute. When I was there the other day tables were graced by vases with colorful Gerbera Daisies, which was just perfect for matching the environment.
The servers were all extremely friendly. Some customers were obviously regulars and were greeted by name, so it's that kind of place--one that feels like it has its own community.
A word here, I found the Coffee Cup because I was looking for a cafè in La Jolla, more like a coffee house. This place is actually more like a restaurant.
I just went simple with a bowl of soup, but it was really good. The menu includes all your typical egg dishes for breakfast, sandwiches, salads, and Mexican dishes as well. Everyone else looked like they were pretty satisfied with their meals too.
The Coffee Cup offers you choices for beverages from coffee to tea. I went with the green tea, and was surprised when it was brought out to me in a giant cup. I enjoyed it very much.
Just a quirky note here, their menu says they can serve their tea iced, but this really means they bring out your tea with a cup of ice cubes. I guess it works. :)
I think the teas and coffee beverages are a little over-priced, but it's not too bad.
All meals are under $15, so any way you're looking at a relatively inexpensive meal.
