George's At The Cove

To openly state my bias, George's At The Cove is one of my favorite restaurant.

This place combines every desirable quality I could possibly think of to make for a great meal. Seriously, no exaggeration.

Beautiful La Jolla CoveJust below George's. Wow.

Here's this restaurant in a nutshell. Specifics are further down the page. Enjoy!

Price Range: Most meals are between $16 and $50

Address:1250 Prospect Street La Jolla, CA 92037

The Feel

First of all, George's sits just above La Jolla Cove. So when you're enjoying your meal you're looking out on one of the most beautiful sights San Diego has to offer. It's difficult for me to imagine a more gorgeous dinner setting.

Now regardless of where you dine you have the view. At George's you have three floors from which to access the scenery, each with a different feel. The first floor is dubbed California Modern, the second is George's Bar, and the third is Ocean Terrace. While California Modern offers a different menu from the other two stories, the view is consistent throughout all three.

But it's not just the view that makes this one of the finest La Jolla restaurants, it's also the encompassing atmosphere. Speaking of the second floor, George's Bar, the environment borders on magical. Modern, elegant décor and soft lighting coupled with large windows give the place an open, heavenly vibe.

I have to say, this is an extremely romantic place that lends itself to being a memorable date location. After you're done with your meal at George's At The Cove, you can head to La Jolla Cove for a stroll or to just have a seat right by the ocean.

The Food

You know the term "cooked to perfection?" Well, George's At The Cove gives it meaning.

From taste to presentation, the meals are flawless.

George's At The CoveThe first visit to George's

Seriously, my first visit to George's was enlightening. I didn't know it was possible for food to look and taste so good!

Dishes are carefully arranged so that they can almost be likened to artwork, and they're presented by wonderfully friendly servers.

The beauty of the plates are matched in quality by the flavorful dishes. If you're heading to George's, the Halibut and the Asian Marinated Steak are both outstanding, so you might want to give them a shot.
