You probably can't find a cuter place to get Thai in San Diego. Kitima in La Jolla is a small, brightly decorated place that pulls you right in from the sidewalk.
It caught my eye one day when I was in the area and I had to check it out.
The vibes of the place are what attracted me to it. I was literally walking by, saw this inviting, cute yellow and white restaurant front, and walked in.
Inside there's a super colorful, awesome mural on the largest wall that immediately caught my attention. Then I was shown to my table to notice the adorable place settings and stunning roses on each table.
There are some floral patterns around, as well as white lace seat coverings and bright colors, that give Kitima a spring time vibe.
As far as cute restaurants go, Kitima in La Jolla ranks at the top for me.
You'll find most typical Thai dishes here, most of them made with some type of rice noodle.
I can only speak for the Pad Thai, but it was good. It wasn't outstanding, but it was tasty. The dish was cooked well with a good combination of flavors. Kitima serves both chicken and shrimp in their Pad Thai, making for a more flavorful meal.
The serving size was just about right, not too big and not too small. It was such that I was satisfied when I was done.
I think the real appeal of this place for me though was the vibe of the restaurant and it's close proximity to La Jolla Cove.
Dishes are really reasonably priced. You can get an entree for between $10 and $15.
They have a pretty awesome three course lunch special for $9.99 too, which is pretty much a steal.
Heads up, the tea here is relatively expensive. It's $3, which isn't a lot of money, but it is a lot of money for some tea. This was my only point of disappointment here.
