La Jolla Cove boasts some of the most gorgeous views in all of San Diego, as evidenced by the photo to the left.
The Cove offers a small beach and a very large grass area for the enjoyment of its visitors.
In addition, it's located within walking distance from downtown La Jolla, which is home to reataurants, shopping, and art galleries.

There are several smaller beaches around La Jolla Cove, all of which are breath-taking.
As far as activity goes, these beaches are very calm. The beach right at the Cove (pictured right) is small, so there's not too much room for movement.
However, you also have the option of venturing around the Cove on the stone, on which you can usually find some sealife. There is also a park at the Cove. It's a great place to spend some time with a large grass area and spectacular views.

In addition, if you travel south from the main cove for about half a mile, you will find a larger beach that gives you a little more room to work with (pictured left).
I'm not sure what this beach is officially called, but you really can't miss it.
It's a great place to go if you're looking for a gorgeous place to relax a little further away from the hustle and bustle around the Cove.

The main occupants of the waters here are its resident seals.
I wouldn't recommend swimming here, but some people do and they seem to make it alright.
If you want to explore the sea around here, cruising in a kayak may be a better bet.
An attractive feature about this place is that it's very close to downtown La Jolla, which is La Jolla's center for dining, shopping, and nightlife.
If you're around La Jolla Cove looking for dinner, George's is a fantastic option. It's a bit pricey, but completely worth it. I rave about this place. Great atmosphere and food with an unbeatable view.
Note: Hotels in the area are absolutely gorgeous with the nearby ocean, and conveniently located in the middle of the action downtown. I've never stayed in one in the area, but I envy people who do.
