These La Jolla restaurants have my stamp of approval, and believe me when I say that means a lot (I'm a tough food critic). I hope this helps you to find a place you'll enjoy.

Jeff's Burgers

Jeff's is an old favorite of mine, close enough to La Jolla Shores that you can walk there in a few minutes. It's just a little place on Avenida de la Playa that's perfect for grabbing a bite during a beach day, quick and inexpensive. The burgers, fries, and shakes all have my stamp of approval.

George's By the Cove

I don't know how better to compliment George's other than to say that it is amazing. Hands down, this is my favorite restaurant in La Jolla.

There are three stories to the restaurant, each with a different feel. I have eaten on the second story, which overlooks La Jolla Cove. I have never eaten in such a beautiful setting, nor eaten such a beautiful meal.

I realized after a few minutes that there was actually no glass separating us from the ocean air. I was pretty awestruck by my surroundings, the atmosphere of the place is just incredible. The elegant setting, lighting, and decorations highten the loveliness all the more.

Meals are presented like artwork, to the point where it almost seemed sacriligious to disrupt the harmony of my plate. The food was incredible. I don't think I've ever felt so satisfied after a meal. Seriously, this was like food nirvana.

None of this is an exaggeration. I highly recommend this place, and their halibut served on a bed of rice and vegetables.

George's is really one of the most magicalof all La Jolla restaurants due to it's location right on La Jolla Cove. If you haven't been to the Cove, you should check it out. It boasts some of the most stunning views in San Diego.
