Mission Beach may be the most iconic of all the beaches in the county. The beach, the famed Mission Beach boardwalk, and Belmont Park make Mission a place for surfers and sunbathers, skateboarders and rollerbladers, sunbathers and shoppers.
For me, this beach is appealing because it draws such a crowd and there always seems to be something going on.
This is my first choice if I'm in the mood for being a part of the bustle.
It's hard to describe Mission Beach, because it is such a diverse, interesting place, but I have done my best to aptly depict it with the following information.

A Beautiful Afternoon At Mission Beach
The shores of Mission Beach are usually full of vitality.
The eclectic nature of this place attracts a pretty diverese group of beach-goers, from young people to families, action-seekers to loungers.
It really is a fun place to be, for the seaside location and for the viewing of all that happens when you get all sorts of people gathered in one place.
There are three options for those looking to take to the sand in here: Mission Bay, Mission Beach, and South Mission.
Mission Bay is a little bit of beach and a lot of water right in the middle of Mission Beach.
A bike path circles the entire bay, so bicylce rides, rollerblading, jogging, skateboarding, and more are all options when you spend a day here.
In addition, the Mission Bay Recreation Center rents out some equipment, like paddleboats and kayaks. The center also offers camps and lessons in things like surfing, wakeboarding, and skiing. For these reasons, Mission Bay can be a great option for those who want a little activity or would like to try something new.
If this sounds like a place for you, go ahead and visit this page all about Mission Bay to find out more.
This strip of beach runs right in front of Belmont Park and the Wavehouse, so it attracts quite a bit of activity simply because of its location.
There are always people cruising down the Mission Beach boardwalk, either on foot, on bike, or on board. In the water you'll likely find surfers, skim boarders, swimmers, and boogie boarders all splashing around. Loungers typically adorn the sand, although you can commonly see some soccer games or frisbee sessions there too.
It's a nice spot to go for just about anyone who likes a little activity in their beach trips, whether you head to the beach with friends or family.
If this sounds like a good fit for you and you want more information, go ahead and visit this page on Mission Beach.
The first word that comes to mind when I think South Mission Beach is fun.
South Mission is generally less crowded than Mission, making it a great location for those who like an active atmosphere but at the same time like a little space.
Basketball and volleyball courts are up for grabs, anyone can take advantage of them if they so please. Given the surroundings and resources, South Mission generally attracts a younger, active crowd, which is definitely reflected in the atmosphere of the beach.
It really is a good choice if you're looking to immerse yourslef in a fun, lively environment.

Roller coaster at the beach? Why yes, there is one at Belmont Park.
I think Belmont Park is pretty much a hallmark location for San Diego. Essentially, it's like a mini amusement park right on the shores of Mission Beach.
You have your pick of rides and carnival games when you visit. Although I don't go here often, it is worth checking out if you've never visited.
Since I mainly spend my time around the beaches, I don't know all too much about hot vacation spots.
If you're interested in a vacationers perspective, San-Diego-Attractions.Net was created by a San Diego vacationer to share his favorite activities and locations. He spans activities from golf to whale watching, so if that sounds like you're kind of scene you should check his site out.

There are numerous options for fun when you bring your family to Mission Beach, San Diego, and many families take advantage of them. The classic option of hanging out on the sand is always there, with sand castles to build, frisbee to play, and whatever else you want to fit into your beach trip. There are two options for beach-going famlies here: Mission Beach right in front of the main lifeguard tower and South Mission Beach about two miles down the coast.
Some attracions of Mission Beach include its close proximity to Belmont Park and the famous Mission Beach Boardwalk, which add the options of roller coaster rides or strolling down the boardwalk to your day.
South Mission Beach offers both volleyball and basketball courts, as well as the boardwalk that continues all the way to South Mission.
Mission Bay is also a good option for the family. The bay is a mellow place, very good for families with young children. The bay's calm waters are welcoming to children who aren't quite ready for the ocean yet, and parents can just wade out with them.
There is also a bike path that circles the entire bay, so bicylce rides, rollerblading, and skateboarding are all option when you spend a day here.
In addition, the Mission Bay Recreation Center rents out some equipment, like paddleboats and kayaks. The center also offers camps and lessons in things like surfing, wakeboarding, and skiing. Needless to say Mission Bay can be a great option for those who want a little activity or would like to try something new.
Just across the street from Mission Beach, Mission Bay Park provides huge, open grass areas for it's visitors enjoyment.
It's a nice place to go if you're feeling like taking a break from the sand and the surf. Honestly, I never get to that point, but I can say that the park does seem like an appealing picnic location.

In addition to the beach, Belmont Park serves to bring a little bit of a county fair vibe to your day if you want to change it up.
There are fair-type games here to play, dining options, and also carnival rides. Probably the most famous of these rides is the Dipper Roller Coaster, but there are also several other rides to choose from.
Although I much prefer the beach itself to Belmont Park, it is fun to visit every now and then, and I have to say it is worth checking out if you've never been.
