Welcome to Pacific Beach, San Diego!

Pacific Beach, San Diego generally attracts a younger crowd; the beach itself is a pretty active place with a fun atmosphere.

I'm afraid to say that I haven't spent all too much time hanging out at the beach here as it's not quite my style, but when I'm in the mood for an environment that tends toward the spectrum of excitment I stop by.

I have, however, spent some time dining out around PB and exploring the streets a bit, so I can tell you that there is so much diversity in this community and it kind of seems like there's a party going on all the time.

The area is especially known for it's nightlife, boasting many hot spots and bars. I can't speak from my experience about the fun you can have around PB while checking out the bar scene, but friends who can say it's awesome.

So that's it in a nutshell: fun, exciting, active, and young.

Winding Down At Sunset

There is really only one option for a beach day here--the strip of beach north of Crystal Pier that stretches on for about a mile.

A lot of people on the sand is the norm here, making it a good place to be if you want a little more bustle in your beach trip. Although it is usually one of the busier beaches in San Diego, it has a really nice combination of values that provide an energetic yet still laid-back atmosphere.

Pacific Beach is also a favorite surfing destination for many, for all those interested in catching some waves.

Doesn't That Boardwalk Call To You?

If your family likes an active environment, you'll likely enjoy Pacific Beach.

You have the options of hanging out on the sand, taking advantage of cruising along the boardwalk, and heading south to check out Crystal Pier.

Note that during the summer months this beached is pretty much packed daily, so only head down if you're not opposed to close quarters.

Pacific Beach is an active place, especially in respect to the nightlife. So if you're looking to stay in a place where you can spend your evenings out, this is a good place for you.

One exceptionally cool feature for staying in P.B. is the Crystal Pier Hotel, which is actually on the pier. Talk about an ocean view!
