"Wow." That was the first word that came to mind upon seeing Roppongi for the first time. Aided by the vibes of its sleek Asian inspired decor, an elegant, sophisticated feel is present the instant you walk through the door.

However, Roppongi is not overly formal or stuffy. Rather, its elegance is wrapped it up in a fun, trendy atmosphere. The place is just effortlessly cool and classy.

Given the suberb dining environment I expected the meals themselves to be suberb to match, and I was not disappointed. Delicious is the only appropriate description.

I can't praise this place enough, they seem to have everything boiled down to perfection.

The Feel

This is the kind of place that makes you feel cool just by being there. That's how enveloping the whole vibe of the restaurant is.

From the modern furniture and lighting, to the clean elegance, to fellow diners dressed up just a little bit, Roppongi is like a realm of chic.

I particularly like the feel of Roppongi's patio seating. It's hard to find a better setting than outdoors in La Jolla on a sunny evening, especially when that evening is coupled with dinner at this restaurant.

There is absolutely nothing I could fault.

The Food

Roppongi offers a variety of sushi options, but I stay simple with the California Rolls. Truth is though, they're fantastic and they're only $10.00! The avocado, crab, and ginger are all extremely fresh, making the rolls especially flavorful and satisfying.

I also got a chance to try out the short ribs, and they were arguably the best thing I have ever tasted. They literally melt in your mouth. Plus they're accompanied by the creamiest mashed potatos I can imagine.

Okay, now I'm making myself hungry. I think it may be time to go back to Roppongi.
