Family Fun

This is really a great spot for kids and for families. There is probably no better place to fly a kite, and the bike path that goes along the water can be the surface for many fun activities. If you'd like to cruise by the seaside you can pick up a bicycle(or a bicycle made for 2 or for 4) from the nearby Bikes and Beyond rental center and take a ride.

When I was young we would have birthday parties here, and this place has much to offer as far as keeping children happy. We also rented surreys (which are essentially four-person carriages that are powered by pedaling) and rode along the bikeway. All of us kids loved to go for rides in them, and I think that would hold true for many children.

Other Activities

This can also be a place for the sailors and shoppers out there. The marina near Tidelands park hosts quite a few sailboats for those interested. The shoppers can be pleased to know that the park is only a few minutes away from the Coronado Ferry Landing, which is home to a collection of stores and restaurants.

I once biked from Tidelands Park Coronado to the shores of the Central Beach. It took a while, but it was extremely fun. This bike adventure is a great idea if you have the time and energy.
