Wind N Sea is off the beaten path, as most people don't even know that it's there.
To get here, you have to park on and walk down to the beach. You can't see it from the street at all, it's kind of like a well-kept secret.

The shores of Wind N Sea are usually a quietly active place. Most people just relax on the sand, but there are also a good number of people who choose to play frisbee, football, and other such things.
Note:The sand at here differs from that at any other beach in San Diego in that it's more grainy. It's like a ton of very, very small smooth stones all gathered together to compose the entire beach.

I addition to the sand, there is also an expanse of stone for exploring.
When the tide is low there are little nooks of sand for the taking. These are prime places for getting a little privacy while taking in the rays.
Other than that there are crevices teeming with sea life(like the one pictured right) that the adventrous can check out if they so please.

The surf here does not easily lend itself to swimming or boogie boarding.
The waves are always extremely strong and they crash pretty brutally right on the shore.
However, this is a favorite spot for many experienced surfers due to the point break on the north and south sides of the beach. I've heard that the locals are pretty teritorial, but this place is known for having some of the best La Jolla surf.
If you're looking for some surf, this is a good place. However, if you want to venture outside of Wind N Sea, you can change it up by heading to Blacks Beach.
Since this beach is nestled away in a mostly residential area, so in that respect you don't have many non-beach activities within reasonable walking distance.
However the beach is relatively close to La Jolla Cove and downtown La Jolla, just a few moments drive.
If you're looking for a place to grab something to eat or to do some shopping, you're best bet is to head there.
